DROP-IN T'AI CHI CHIH - Tuesdays through August 20

Lee Bergman, Roseland resident and accredited T'ai Chi Chih instructor, returns with her popular Summer Drop-In T'ai Chi Chih classes! Cost is $10 per class - come to any number of classes you wish!

T'ai Chi Chih is a series of gentle movements (19 altogether and a single pose) based on ancient wellness principles of the Far East. It is believed to have various health benefits including increased focus, flexibility, muscle stregth, improved balance, and more! Try a class this summer or continue honing your skills! FREE TRIAL DANCE LESSON - Wednesday, August 21, 4-5 pm


Is your child an aspiring dancer, or do you know a young person who loves to dance? Roseland resident Hannah Bonaguide is excited to invite any interested dancers ranging in age from 4 to 18 to a free trial lesson, to be held in the library's community room, as she promotes her nonprofit dancing school, Hannah's Dance Academy. The school, based in Roseland, offers FREE lessons to all of its students and helps prepare them for competitive team dancing through practices and lessons. The trial lesson on August 21 is suitable for any type of dance (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, etc) and will feature a variety of quick combos. BACK TO SCHOOL WITH ESSENTIAL OILS - Thursday, August 22, at 4 pm


 

Get into the back-to-school spirit with this hands-on workshop, where you will learn how to make some fun essential oil-based products to celebrate and gear up for the season: sleep spray, as well as immunity and focus rollers.  PLEASE NOTE : THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO AGES 12 THROUGH ADULT BUT SPACE IS LIMITED TO 20 PEOPLE.  RSVP on our website under Event Registration.

INFORMATION CLINIC FOR PARENTS OF TEEN DRIVERS 

Thursday, August 22, at 7 pm


Driving instructor Mike Moran returns with an information clinic for parents of teen drivers who are preparing for their six-hour behind-the-wheel instruction. Being the parent of a first-time driver can be anxiety-provoking, given the accident statistics associated with young drivers. Both teens and their parents can learn what to look for once their mandatory instruction has been completed. Gain some insights as to the most common mistakes new drivers make, how to help build confidence behind the wheel, road test essentials, how to nip bad driving habits in the bud, and determine when it's prudent to consider additional or refresher lessons. RSVP on our website under Event Registration

MINDFUL COLORING FOR ADULTS - Tuesdays at 1 pm

Escape the stress of every day life with some mindful coloring at the library! Join us for a relaxing afternoon of coloring, herbal tea, snacks, and meditative music. With its soothing and meditative qualities, coloring is a fun and easy activity that can help lower your stress levels and push negative thoughts aside. RSVP on our website under Event Registration.

WALKING FOR FITNESS -  Mondays & Wednesdays at 10 am 

Join a fun, new group fitness activity that meets every Monday and Wednesday at 10 am. Weekly program features a 45-minute low-impact walking workout (streamed on video). ADULT CHAIR YOGA - Mondays at 11 am

DROP-IN TECH MONDAYS - Every Monday 6-9 pm


Stop by any Monday between 6 and 9 pm to get help with your portable tech device. No appointment necessary.

ZAC'S HACKS - Mondays & Fridays 9 am-noon
 



Library assistant Zac Cascio will be available to show you the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other tech resources any Monday or Friday from 9 am to noon. Learn how to safely and effectively navigate social media; create resume templates, letters, and spreadsheets; utilize valuable cell phone, iPad, and Kindle features, such as calendars and more. DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF THIS PROGRAM, RSVP IS NOW REQUIRED - please sign up on the homepage under "Event Registration." This is drop-in instruction, not a formal class.

Roseland patrons, are you interested in downloading audio and e-books through the new Libby app, or audio books, movies, music, e-books,  comics, and television shows through Hoopla? Our library assistants will be on hand to help you get acquainted with these services and make the most of them! No appointment necessary, but call to see if a library assistant will be available.
