THINK "PAWSITIVE" SELF-ESTEEM WORKSHOP - Wednesday, March 12, at 4 pm

We are excited to host a visit from teacher and children's author Kathy DiMario and learn more about her book, What Kind of Dog Are You? This enchanting story features the memorable character of Posha the Rescued Dog as a way to teach school-age children to love themselves for who they are. Kathy is an adjunct professor at Ocean County College's School of Business and Human services, where she teaches various honors psychology courses, including child psychology.

The author will present "Think Pawsitive," a workshop designed to equip parents and children with essential tools to support mental health by fostering self-esteem, resilience, and a positive mindset. Participants will learn effective strategies to address challenges such as bullying and peer pressure. Central to the workshop is Posha's Superpower Toolbox, which combines the What Kind of Dog Am I?story with cognitive psychology techniques and Virginia Satir's Self-Esteem Toolkit. Virginia Satir was an American author,  social worker, and psychotherapist known for her groundbreaking work in family therapy.
